Minister for Defence and former Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has announced the forthcoming launch of his latest book, “A Peaceful Man In An African Democracy.”
The book, which pays tribute to the late President Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, is set to be officially released later this year. Dr. Omane Boamah made the announcement in a heartfelt social media post, commemorating the 13th anniversary of President Mills’ passing.
Describing the book as an inspiring account of a leader who championed peace, stability, and democratic values, Dr. Omane Boamah revealed that the project had been completed in 2024 but was temporarily shelved due to his critical role in the NDC’s 2024 election campaign.
“President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills died 13 years ago. Rest in perfect peace, Prof,” he wrote. “This book tells the inspiring story of President Mills, a true leader who dedicated his life to serving Ghana and promoting peace, stability, and democracy in Africa.”
Dr. Omane Boamah noted that “A Peaceful Man In An African Democracy” offers deep insights into the late president’s leadership style and vision for a better Ghana. He encouraged Ghanaians and readers across the continent to look forward to exclusive updates and behind-the-scenes glimpses ahead of the official launch.
The upcoming publication is expected to rekindle national reflections on the legacy of President Mills, who is widely regarded as the “Asomdwehene”—King of Peace—for his calm demeanor and principled leadership.
“Get ready to be inspired by the story of a peaceful man who made a lasting impact on me and on Ghana’s history,” Dr. Omane Boamah concluded.
The announcement has already sparked anticipation among political observers, historians, and supporters of President Mills’ legacy, as the nation continues to honour his contributions to Ghana’s democratic journey.
