The Government of Ghana has extended the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy to cover 60 private schools, a significant development since the policy was first introduced
This inclusion is expected to help reduce congestion in public SHSs and ensure that more students can benefit from quality education, regardless of whether they attend public or private institutions.
The move has been welcomed by the Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS), which sees it as a step toward broadening access to quality education.
Parents and guardians are advised to verify the list of approved private SHSs through the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service (GES), or GNACOPS platforms.
