President John Dramani Mahama is currently in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, where he is participating in the 7th African Union (AU) Mid-Year Coordination Meeting.
The high-level summit, which brings together Heads of State and Government, aims to strengthen continental integration and assess the progress made on key development priorities across the African continent. The coordination meeting serves as a critical platform for aligning the AU’s agenda with the plans of Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and member states.
President Mahama’s presence at the summit reflects his continued commitment to Africa’s development and his role as a respected voice in regional diplomacy. The meeting is expected to focus on areas including infrastructure development, peace and security, climate resilience, food security, and the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The AU Mid-Year Coordination Meeting has become a strategic avenue for reviewing and accelerating the implementation of Agenda 2063 — the continent’s blueprint for inclusive and sustainable development.
President Mahama joins other African leaders in contributing to the collective efforts towards achieving a more integrated, prosperous, and peaceful Africa
